2nd Quarter Wrap-Up and Most Anticipated 3rd Quarter

Hello everyone! How are you today? Me, I have survived the SECOND quarter of 2019 and I am still thriving. I have just finished my second draft on my second book and have sent it out to my BETA readers. I also have started outlining a new series I will be publishing on Wattpad soon! By the way, I will be posting WIP later. I have a full diary of my journey writing through these two series I am working on. I have been catching up on reading and thinking about the books that are so close to being released. I have provided a list of MY most anticipated book for the third quarter (July 1, 2019 to September 30, 2019).

Forever and Never by Ella Fields

"Later, Cotton Candy." There'd be no later. Or maybe there'd be too many. Only time would tell.
Ella Fields destroyed me once again and I will die happily. I have read quite a few books by Ella Fields, but I have to tell you, this is hands down my favorite. I couldn’t put it down, I had to keep going, I had to know what was going to happen next. I can't wait to get another sneak of this couple in the upcoming book. I need to see them again!

Here is the review!
Bitmoji Image
First, the synopsis:

Lars Bradby was supposed to be my forever. That was before we found out he would become a father at the tender age of eighteen.
For years, he’d watched me.
For months, he’d wanted me.
For weeks, he’d chased me.
Relentless and infuriating, he turned my stubborn heart into something pliable and weak.
Sly and honest, he worked his way into my life as though he’d always planned to be the focal point of it.
In love and naive, even when our future seemed bleak, I believed in us.
Heartbroken and desperate, I tore my bleeding heart from my chest, wanting only the best for him.
In doing so, our forever wasn’t just interrupted. It was chased away with one irreversible decision after another.
And now, we could no longer see it beneath the heaping piles of debris we’d left in our wake.

Bitmoji Image
Her stories are addicting and thrilling and also very real and honest. They stay with you and viscerally affect you where you can't really function until you reach the final word. Without giving away any spoilers, Forever and Never describes the tumultuous love story between Lars and Daphne and painfully shows us how the one you love the most wields the power to land the deepest cut. This story was so gripping and equally heartbreaking.
“It was forever, this love. And all I could do was submit.”
There were some many time where I wanted to throw my phone across the room because of the actions of these characters. (Spoiler) When Lars made Daphne pick him up with his little fling and started pleasuring her, I was so angry! I couldn't believe he went that far. I wanted Daphne to drag him! I give her credit because I would have started swinging. Daphne is just too much of a sweetheart.
bursting with love
On top of all of these reasons, the themes and ideas of forgiveness and love, although changing and altering, remains, and this poignant message resonated. The love she writes about, while at times ugly, is the real stuff. It survives the hardships, the disappointment and betrayals. Love endures, and there isn’t anything more romantic than that notion. The story flows flawlessly and when the heartbreak hits it hits hard all because of the foundation Ella Fields has laid for Daphne and Lars. Their story is one of love. And what a love theirs is. Lars never hiding his feelings and Daphne keeping him at arms length but when she finally lets go and falls all bets are of.
"I'm sorry Lars, I have to go."
Rating: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
Overall, this was a heartbreaking and emotional read that is definitely in my top three. I forced myself to read this through my tears, people! I held my breath during so many parts as tears flooded my eyes in helpless anger while I steadfastly rooted for this couple. The storytelling was impeccable and I got lost in the brilliance of this author's words. Ella Fields’ writing is better than ever. Strong and poignant. Hitting me right in the heart with few little words. I will say this though...I can't decide if Pretty Venom or Forever and Never is better! It's so hard to choose which one is my favorite.

Cover Reveal: COMING UP ROSES by Staci Hart

Coming Up Roses, an all-new enemies to lovers romantic comedy from Staci Hart is coming August 1st, and we have the beautiful cover!

CUR-ebook.jpg

Everyone hates parts of their job.

Maybe it’s the paperwork. Maybe it’s the day-to-day grind. Maybe it’s that client who never knows what they want, or the guy who always cooks fish in the microwave.

But not me. I love every corner of the Longbourne Flower Shop, every flower, every petal, every stem. I love the greenhouse, and I love Mrs. Bennet, my boss. I love creating, and I love being a florist. I don’t hate anything at all.

Except for Luke Bennet.

The Bennet brothers have come home to help their mom save the flower shop, and Luke is at the helm. His smile tells a tale of lust, loose and easy. He moves with the grace of a predator, feral and wild. A thing unbridled, without rules or constraint.

When he comes home to save Longbourne, I almost can’t be mad at him.

Almost.

He doesn’t remember that night I’ll never forget. That kiss, touched with whiskey and fire. It branded me like a red-hot iron. But it meant nothing to him.

Everyone hates part of their job, and I hate Luke Bennet.

Because if I don’t, I’ll fall in love with him.

About Staci

Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life -- a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can't forget that. She's also been a mom, with three little girls who are sure to grow up to break a number of hearts. She's been a wife, though she's certainly not the cleanest, or the best cook. She's also super, duper fun at a party, especially if she's been drinking whiskey. From roots in Houston to a seven year stint in Southern California, Staci and her family ended up settling somewhere in between and equally north, in Denver. They are new enough that snow is still magical. When she's not writing, she's reading, sleeping, gaming, or designing graphics. AuthorPics.jpg

Under a Different Sky by Lindsey Iler

Something I’ve always thought I’d have is a future with the girl of my dreams.
This book... Where do I even begin? Under A Different Sky is so much more than just a simple love story. It's a story of loss and heartache. It's a story of strength and never giving up. It's a story of finding yourself again after the darkness tries to take over. It is a story that will tug at your heart strings from the very beginning.

Here is the review

Synopsis:

My life is a mess.

I'm walking around with a black eye. My position on the hockey team is questionable at best, and if that’s not bad enough, I think I'm falling for my dead girlfriend's best friend.

Every day, it's a fight to feel alive, and yet, I drink to numb the pain. Everyone is standing back, watching me fall apart.

Everyone except Hannah. No matter how many times I push, she's there to pull me back. She refuses to let me spiral any deeper. And after one kiss—she’s impossible to ignore.
Unfortunately, it seems she and I aren’t the only thing being kept a secret.

I absolutely loved Nick and Hannah! The chemistry and pull these two have is extraordinary. They both struggled internally with their feelings, but each in their own way. Nick lost his first true love and doesn't know how to live without her. He doesn't know how to let her go and how to move on. The raw emotion in him as he struggles was absolutely heartbreaking to see. And Hannah, she lost her best friend in the world. On top of that, she made some promises to Mia that she wants to keep, but is struggling to uphold.

Do you ever truly get over a loss like that? I’m trying my hardest, and some may not agree with my methods, but I’m doing my damn best.
Watching Nick and Hannah together was a beautiful sight to see. The happiness they found in each other while trying to heal was absolutely magical. They were two halves of a whole who completed each other in every way. They had they type of love that every girl longs for when growing up. But their journey wasn't an easy one. There were lots of bumps and bruises along the way.
Bitmoji Image
The slow burn you feel between these sizzled of the pages. I was rooting for them and yet also feeling the guilt and questions they themselves we're having. Lindsey wrote a beautiful story about loss, love, and moving on with life. You will feel their pain and struggle with their feelings for one another, it gets intense at times.

Her excitement over something as simple as driving my truck has me wishing I could always do something like this for her.
Under A Different Sky was such an emotional trip. The writing was phenomenal. The author didn't just make me feel the book. She made me live it, experience it and breathe it. I loved each and every swoon-worthy, heart fluttering, heartbreaking, painful and devastating moment. It gave me all of the feels and I couldn't possible ask for more. This story is one that will touch everyone's life and take you on the most amazing ride. This book deserves all the stars and more.
bursting with love
The chemistry between the two is incredible from the start. Of course in typical Lindsey fashion, nothing is easy, and their world is full of secrets. This story took my heart and put it in a blender. I had to walk away from the story and come back several times. I loved every second.

Rating:  ★ ★ ★
Overall, Lindsey wrote a phenomenal book left me in tears and begging for more at the same time. Lindsey’s writing brings the characters to life. Every smile I felt, every tear I cried and trust me it's hard to make me cry! Every word in this book was written from the heart, and you know it just from reading. This book will give you the feels. I can’t wait too see what book two has in store for us.

Kiss and Break Up by Ella Fields

Ella Fields delivers and delivers every time she releases a book. The first book I ever read written by her was Suddenly Forbidden. I read that book in two days because something called work was getting in my way of finishing this gripping book. After reading Pretty Venom earlier this year, Ella Fields is THE queen of angst. It is my second favorite book of this year so far and that says a lot. After reading Pretty Venom, I thought maybe she wouldn't write anything that will reach it. Well, she strikes again with Kiss and Break Up and she knocked it straight out of the park! She hit the home run of angst! I'm talking teenage angst overload here, people! And. It. Was. Amazing.

Here we go to the review!

Synopsis:

Dashiell Thane wasn’t a nice guy.

He was an abrasive, demanding, conniving, intolerable brat.

Yet somehow, we’d been best friends our whole lives.

Until our senior year when I finally decided to dip my toes into the dating pool.

All it took was one kiss for jealousy, lies, and betrayal to sweep in and propel us heart first into dizzying, hostile depths.
You’re not supposed to kiss your best friend.
You’re definitely not supposed to kiss your best friend while you’re dating someone else.
And the absolute worst thing you could do is fall for your best friend.
Unless, of course, you want to ruin everything.

Dash and Peggy have known each other since they were in diapers. And they've been best friends since Dash essentially decided it and practically bullied Peggy into it. She's never had a choice in the matter, but it's not like she minds. The guy may be rude, crude, and completely tone deaf when it comes to proprietary, but he's her best friend. Through thick and thin. And their senior year of high school definitely brings a change in their comfortable dynamic.

Peggy is a bit of a late bloomer. But with her braces off and a new haircut, suddenly she begins to see her own appeal. And with that appeal, she wants to experience dating like all girls her age have already done. But when a cute boy asks her out, she realizes that her inexperience is a crutch that she needs to get rid off. And in comes her knight in tarnished armor, Dash, with an offer she can't refuse; practice with him.
Because I did. I’d always loved him but not like this. Love, I’d discovered, was something that multiplied. With every kiss and every touch, it continued to change shape as we continued to fall.
Dash is a character that you will love to hate and hate to love. He's far from perfect and he makes plenty of mistakes. As hard as you want to hate him for the decisions he makes sometimes, you also can't help but fall for him anyway. Peggy was the perfect balance for him. She accepts him in all his imperfect glory, but she also doesn't take any of his shit. I loved the dynamic of the guy pining after the girl who takes a while to truly understand her feelings for him. It's a refreshing change of pace.

There were certain parts in the book that made me so mad at Dash. (Spoiler) When Peggy found him having sex with Kayla, I was so mad for me. Understand he was angry and all, but come on! Revenge will continue unless someone stops it and he wanted to get back at her for allegedly losing her virginity with someone else.

Bitmoji Image
“To try talking to you, to apologize, but it doesn’t matter now.” His brows gathered, and the tension in his jaw slowly loosened. “It doesn’t?” “No,” I said, and I took the opportunity to push him off me. “It doesn’t matter that I wanted to tell you I love you too because you’ve gone and wrecked it.” I stalked toward my car.
There's several secondary characters that are introduced, that I'm practically salivating for a book for. The set up for their books is utterly delicious. I have zero chill with getting my grubby little hands on their stories. Daphne and Lars...I got my eyes on you!Bitmoji Image
“Because I love you.” “Well, I don’t want your damn love. Not now. Not tomorrow. Not in ten years.” Shock painted his features a paler hue. “You don’t mean that.”
Rating: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
Overall, this was an amazing read and I have found myself going back to reading this book just for certain scenes. Ella Fields always delivers when it comes angst filled books and I just love it. Now, it did not beat Pretty Venom for me but there is a rumor that the next book in this series Forever and Never has more angst than Pretty Venom, I am ready! This book was absolutely amazing! It will definitely be in my top reads for 2019. This was such an amazing read for this year! It is one of my only five star reads and I am so happy. Lately, I’ve been rating around 4 or 3 stars and this was just a breath of fresh air!

Malum: Part 2 by Amo Jones

43832305
WTF did I just read? That is the first thing that I thought of when I put this book down. I read this book in twelve hours! That's how much I was anticipating it. When it arrived in my phone, I screamed! I was up at eight am and read until I had to go to work. This book had everything the other's were missing and I loved it. Amo Jones did it again, people!

Lt's get to the review:

Some girls don’t like pretty things.
Some girls like things that are destructive, and toxic. Things that fuel our bodies with adrenaline and bring our demons to their knees.
They say magic isn’t real, but it’s it the closest way to describe love? It doesn’t exist physically. It merely exists around us, within us, possessing our souls and making us do stupid shit. Shit like falling in love with a boy who knows how to rip my world apart and raise hell with a simple flick of his wrist. Their secrets are now mine. I’m not just in the middle of this game, I’m helping orchestrate it. Can the cries of my aching soul be enough to drown out the burning embers of my mistakes?

The mind strengthens the heart, roughing the edges to prepare it for war. This is a war I will not win.

This is a war of fate.

Tillie Stuprum, you da real Queen Bitch and I love it. She’s smart, brave, fierce and loyal. She fully deserves to stand among the Kings and she’s worthy of their respect. I admire her strength and fearlessness. From all of known female characters she’s the only one, who can tame Nate Riverside-Malum and that is saying a lot. And we all know that he’s not easy to tame, or to love. This boy is a loose cannon, so complicated and wild, that we never know which side he’ll show. Would it be playful, flirting Nate? Or maybe cruel and savage devil, who’s living in the same body?
“I’m so sick of competing against other girls when it comes to his affection, Bran Bran. Throughout our entire relationship—if that’s what you can even call it—I’ve had to compete for a spot in his heart, only to watch him treat everyone nice, and me? Not so nice.” I pause when I realize I’m about to choke on my sobs. Snot and everything dripping down my nose.
As it turns out, Nate has one more side of him- a little softer, that apparently is capable of feelings. And this side of Nate made me fall in love with him even more. Because it made the big bad wolf gentle enough to seek comfort. But don’t melt all the way- he’s still the same mean, ruthless and hot-tempered guy. The constant push and pull between him and Tillie was pulling on my heartstrings. I felt their unbreakable bond, but at the same time I knew that they need to clear their heads and clean up the mess around them to face the feelings and their relationship status.,
Hearing her say that she had to compete for me, messed with me on a new level. I've been fucked a lot, and no pussy has fucked me as bard as Tillie's words did in that sentence." I feel hollow, and fucking shit.
Spoiler: The reveal of Madison's rape wasn't shocking to me, honestly. Maybe because I have read a lot of this kind of books that a part of me was just waiting for something like this to happen. Same goes with Daemon's ghost. I just knew it was in her head. He was shot in the head and was even implied he wouldn't survive it. What did shock me was Micaela's murderer. I was furious when I found out it was Peyton who murdered her own NEICE! Like come on, you sociopath, you got what came to you.
"I turn to go find some alcohol when his voice stops me. "I wasn't lying, Tillie.""Yeah will neither was I when I said that I hate you, so leave me the fuck alone."
This book is a complete mind-blowing. With every spilled secret and every new mystery I was getting more engrossed than before. I was surprised, shocked, disgusted and furious. I was also sad, gutted and destroyed. I was laughing and a moment later I was crying. But most of all- from the first to the last page I was unquestionably excited and pleased. Because Amo Jones gave me a story full of emotions that filled my heart to the brim. Reading this book was an incredible experience.
I you hurt someone enough, they acclimatize to pain, but just like a wound, if you don't seal it, you'll bleed out.

Rating: ★ ★ ★  ☆
Overall, this was a fantastic read and a book I already find myself going back to again. Tillie is my favorite character, so far, in this series. Do I see myself goin for another character? At this moment no but Amo will probably change it. I did wish for Nate to grovel for all the shit he made my Tillie go through but homegirl made him jealous! I love it!
