2019 Wrap Up!

Another year has passed and it's now time to narrow down my top ten favorite books of 2019. The fact that I have to choice ten books out of the 330 books I have read this year is going to be hard! So without further ado, here is my list of my TOP ten books of the year!

Bitmoji Image

10. Broken Knight by LJ Shen (Full Review)
“The heart doesn’t ask for permission to feel things. It simply feels.”
THIS BOOK! Oh ma gosh did this book break me. Out of all of Mrs. Shen's characters, my favorite has always been Rosie with Dean a close second. The way this book ended, the way she ended their story was perfect for their story. This book is a total recommend to anyone looking for heartbreak, loss, and just romance, get this book. Luna and Knight's romance both faded and bloomed in this book in a way that made sense. There were some parts where I wanted to scream at them to just talk but communication was hard for them at a time. Anyways, this book was amazing and such a good read that I know I am going to be rereading it after my therapy sessions due to this book.

9. Malum, Part 2 by Amo Jones (Full Review)
“You can have my kingdom, but you cannot have my king.”
Just when you think you know everything, that you've reached the bottom of the well of secrets, Amo Jones pulls the rug right out from under you and you wind up landing face up in a pile of WTF wondering what the hell just happened. GOOD LORD did this book deliver and then some. I died for Nate Riverside Malum in part one, but part two? I bow down to his excellence. He and Tillie were pure fire. She was the flame to his match and together they burned the whole world down and then some!

Wicked Ways

8. Wicked Ways Series by K. Bromberg
The man who said he didn’t believe in love, loving the woman who said she never could love.
Absolute PERFECTION. If I’ve ever read a more satisfying conclusion to a series, I’m not sure what it is. From the very beginning, this couple’s story drew me in completely. I never would’ve expected to love a book about a madam and one of her clients, but that’s exactly what happened during the first book in this duet, and I was devastated by the turn of events at the end (in addition to the wait I would have to endure before reading the conclusion). This certainly did not disappoint; it is just as much about Ryker and Vaughn’s deepening feelings for each other as it is about the suspense, which makes the pages fly by. Bromberg’s exquisite writing makes this unlikely couple one of my all-time favorites, and will put her future books at the top of my to be read list.

7. Twisted Pride by Cora Reilly

“He’s the yin to my yang. The down to my up. The crazy to my normal. The damaged pieces to all my broken parts.”
This book is a retelling of Beauty and The Beast in its own twisting way. I was excited about Remo's book, because, let's be honest here, he is the kind of character I like. I love how cruel and twisted he is. And I feared he would just turn into a nice, lovestruck slob. Serafina is the strongest female character I ever came across in this book world. She isn't only beautiful, but brave and strong willed. Her loving relationship with her family and especially her twin brother, made me smile big. This is why it really hurt to see her being torn between the Camorra and the Outfit. The twist close to the end took me by surprise which I can't say a lot about books since I can see a "plot twist" from a mile away but this one caught me by surprise and will change their lives forever. Overall, this book is a MUST! But you do have to read the previous two books in order to be caught up with what's going on. It doesn't hurt to read the previous serious as well!

Landon & Shay - Part Two: (The L&S Duet Book 2) by [Cherry, Brittainy]

6. Landon & Shay by Brittainy C. Cherry
”You are the first woman—the only woman—who’d ever awakened every sleeping part of me. You were a defining moment of my life.”
This duet along with Eleanor and Grey’s book are what excellent storytelling is made of. Being immersed in this world from start to finish was an absolute, gut-wrenching treat. From awkward, angsts teen years to equally awkward, angst adulthood, these characters drew me in. I loved them. I cried with them. I cheered them on when they each found their HEAs. Through triumph and loss, Cherry draws the reader into the worlds she weaves. I say she is one of the preeminent storytellers of her generation with respect to contemporary romance. An auto buy author for me, indeed!

In the Unlikely Event by [Shen, L.J.]

5. In The Unlikely Event by LJ Shen
All is fair in love and war, and I'm certainly prepared for battle
I devoured this book within a matter of hours. While it is not what LJ Shen typically writes, she absolutely slayed this book. The story of Rory and Mal had my heart breaking and happy dancing, all at the same time! I really enjoyed all of the different view points (yes, even the cow and the napkin) as I felt those contributed to a very thorough and well rounded story that answered all of the questions I had throughout. I can’t say enough about the book except that it is definitely a one-click and MUST READ.

4. Frayed Silk by Ella Fields
“I’ve given you two beautiful children, a beautiful home and a beautiful life, what more do you want from me?” You, I almost say. I just want you.”
Okay, its no secret Ella Fields is one of my top three authors in the world. Ella delivers one hell of a debut novel that was impossible to put down. Her writing is solid, sexy, and suspenseful. The story is about a wife and mother of two, Lia who has been married for ten years to her husband Leo. From the first page her cries for any sort of reaction from Leo that he cares that their marriage is sinking is heartbreaking.
Pretty Venom (Gray Springs University Book 3) by [Fields, Ella]

3. Pretty Venom by Ella Fields
“He might have been the sun I couldn’t help but orbit around, but he didn’t warm me anymore. Instead, he’d made it his mission to leave me locked inside the chilled shadows of our past. A place even the strongest could only survive for so long.”
First of all, that warning is no joke. I wanted to cry, yell, rip my hair out, and throw my kindle at the wall. This book wrung every emotion out of me, most of all all consuming rage. So much rage. Like ALL OF THE RAGE. But it was also all consuming. This book took over my entire existence for the hours that it took me to devour it, completely unable to put it down for even a second. I'm a sucker for some devastating angst, and if the blurb didn't lure me into reading my first Ella Fields book, that warning ultimately did the job.

2. Forever and Never by Ella Fields (Review)
“I wanted her so bad it singed my lungs to even breathe around her. But want wasn’t enough for something as broken as us.”
Daphne and Lars destroyed me in the best possible way. This story is the kind of NA Angst that makes my reader heart beat a little harder. Characters this author conjured from thin air left me battered - feeling like I not only knew them, but genuinely cared about them and I was left feeling desperate for them to get their hard fought HEA. If you like your stories jam packed with teenage bad decisions, first loves that will have you swooning and screaming and moments that will have you gasping out loud then this one’s for you.

Kill Switch (Devil's Night Book 3) by [Douglas, Penelope]
1. Kill Switch by Penelope Douglas (Review)
“How I’d never hated anyone as much as I hated him, but how I loved what I felt with him more than I loved anything I felt with anyone else, either.”
What can I say about the amazing Penelope Douglas? Damon and Winter are literally the perfect characters. This book had everything from suspense, action, romance, ANGST, it had a bit of forbidden and it also showed the relationships among all the characters. I read Kill Switch in the beginning of the year and it has been my number once since then. If you haven't read the Devil's Night series, you NEED TO! It's a perfect mix of genres that makes it one of a kind!

Honorable Mention!
Cruel Prince: A High School Bully Romance by [Jade, Ashley, Jade, A.]

Cruel Prince by Ashley Jade
“He’s the yin to my yang. The down to my up. The crazy to my normal. The damaged pieces to all my broken parts.”
This book was SO GOOD! I loved it and find myself reading certain scenes because it was just a beautiful story. The characters are very well defined and their sizzling chemistry sets the pages on fire. Sarcasm is heavy and strong, words cut open wounds and scathing attacks are splattered everywhere Scintillating story with a lot of heart. A truly heartbreaking love story that will break your heart and then fix it all over again. This book makes me more excited over who I already know is going to be my favorite couple in this series; Cole and Sawyer!

bursting with love

Gilded Lily by Staci Hart

Hello everyone and Happy Holidays! I'm sorry I have been MIA recently, my life took a quick turn of events and I needed to be away for a while. But now I am back and with a new review in my hands! Yes I am bringing you review for the new book by the amazing Staci Hard, Gilded Lily! So let's not waste time and get to the review!

Let's Go!
Bitmoji Image

They say there’s no such thing as perfect.

But I’ve built my life to perfection—the perfect boyfriend, the perfect apartment, the perfect career planning celebrity weddings. My job—my only job—is to make sure every event is absolutely and completely perfect.

What’s not perfect? Kash Bennet.
And I wish I didn’t find that so appealing.
I could have told you every perfectly imperfect thing about the gardener at Longbourne. Like his hair, lush and black and far too long. Or his nose, the flat bridge of a Greek god, bent a little like it’s been broken. Or his size. Beastly. Roped and corded with muscles, gleaming with sweat and peppered with dirt.
There’s no escaping him, not if I’m going to use his family’s flower shop for my events.
But nothing is what it seems. And in the span of a heartbeat, my perfect life is turned inside out.
They say the best way to get over somebody is to get under somebody new. When Kash offers his services to the cause, it sounds like the perfect plan.
What’s not part of the plan? Falling in love with the gardener.
But they were right—there’s no such thing as perfect.
And I’m the fool who finds out the hard way.

year dear
So, Gilded Lily is the second installment in Staci’s Bennet Brothers series and it now focuses on Kash Bennet and Lila Parker. Lila has the perfect life: job, apartment and boyfriend. She wants to keep it that way and get her much deserved promotion. However, she catches her boyfriend cheating and everything turns upside down. She needs a distraction. Enter Kash Bennet. Hot gardener, momma’s boy and the perfect man for “no strings attached” sex. Right? Right. What happens when feelings start getting in the mix?
She was everywhere, in the air, under my skin, living in my heart.
At first glance, it is the opposite attraction theme. Lila is an A-Type personality to the extreme that is perfect for her profession as a wedding planner. Lila has been working all her life to become The Wedding Planner. She worked her way up from the lowest of low during a stint in Los Angeles and then because of her serious success in climbing up the ladder out there, she was able to land her position at the only company she wished to join in New York City.
“Stripped bare and laid before her, plain as day in the darkest of night.”
Obviously, I also enjoyed a whole lot this couple. Two people who seem quite opposite but simply work so well together. What starts as hilarious banter and sexual tension becomes so much more. I loved how Staci developed this love story and how Kash and Lila could not stop themselves from falling in love for each other. I loved their chemistry and how strong they are as a couple and as individuals, I am so happy they found happiness together.
“I felt myself approach a moment, a precipice, A cliff face where I was given a choice. The wind of change whipped my face, beckoning me closer to the edge where I'd have to decide - fly or flee. The life I had, or the one I dreamed of.”
Rating: ★★★ ☆ ☆
Overall, this book is good. The chemistry, the smarts, the care, the feels...all of it worked so well for me. I loved every minute of reading this. What made this wonderful was all of the surrounding parts of this love story. There was the continuing family dynamics of the Bennets and their business situations, there was the continuing insights to the other siblings giving us major hints of other stories to come. All of these elements added to the beauty of this couple. Everything fit. I enjoyed it but out of this series...Coming Up Roses is still my favorite!

In Peace Lies Havoc by Amo Jones

"Well, come on then, Little Bird, let's see if you can fly."
A new book, a new series, and the same twist and turns of Amo Jones. In Peace Lies Havoc is your next must read dark romance. The unique plot line, the alpha males, the feisty heroine, and whole Midnight Mayhem world has me already begging for more. Amo Jones just proves once more what an amazing writer she is. I honestly didn't think this woman could surprise me anymore but she did with this book and these characters.

Let's get to the review, shall we?
Bitmoji Image
My name is Dove Hendry.
𝘔𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘒𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘯 𝘈𝘹𝘵𝘰𝘯.
I was captured by darkness.
𝘚𝘩𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘴 𝘢𝘭𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴
They groomed me for Midnight Mayhem. Like a trained possession, weak against their control.
𝘚𝘩𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘴 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘥 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘣𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘺𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘴𝘚𝘩𝘦 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘥𝘰𝘦𝘴𝘯𝘵 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘪𝘵 𝘺𝘦𝘵...
But Midnight Mayhem was the stained glass that concealed a very dark culture.
𝘈 𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘴𝘩𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘰𝘧.
The Brothers of Kiznitch come in fours, and they’re not happy about me being hustled into their acts.
𝘖𝘳 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘸𝘦𝘊𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘧𝘶𝘭𝘓𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦 𝘉𝘪𝘳𝘥𝘈 𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘴 𝘢 𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘢 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘰𝘯
Mind-tricks.
Stunts.
Deceit.
𝘗𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳.
But there’s something uglier that has been haunting me for years upon years. So ugly that I have never seen it’s face. I never had to. I’d hear his whispers through my internal screams, feel his shadow brush against my nightmares. He was my the monster that tormented me.
𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘮𝘢𝘺𝘣𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘥 𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘣𝘦𝘥
When I started Midnight Mayhem, his presence faded.
His whispers were silenced.
His shadow dissolving without a trace.
I wondered why that was.

𝘚𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘪𝘥𝘯'𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘸𝘰𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨...
Well, ladies and gentleman in true Amo fashion, I’m sitting here at the end of In Peace Lies Havoc just staring. I don’t want to pick up another book. I don’t want to do anything. I want to stare at my phone and cross my fingers for the next book to hurry up and release, because I’m so in love with not just Kingston and Dove’s story, but the whole Midnight Mayhem she created.

Bitmoji Image
In the beginning when it was revealed what exactly Midnight Mayhem, dude...I had to take a minute to reread what I just did. When Amo said she created a new world for us she was not joking, Amo swung for the damn fences with this one. This story is infused with all the tension and heart pumping angst that we’ve come to love from Amo. Midnight Mayhem is truly made from nightmares and you spend the first 75% of this book questioning your sanity. I got so sucked in that I found myself salivating over creepy clowns and burning angels. The whole vibe of the story bled darkness, giving off witchy vibes and creating moments where you doubt your own reality. Its madness.
"Little Bird, don't provoke the wolf when you're a sheep."
Dove was a young girl who has got a lot of loses, but she becomes a strong woman. She doesn't talk so much, a little bit like me. I really like her. The Brothers of Kiznich especially for Kingston. He is a dangerous character. DANGEROUS because he kidnapped my heart and never give it back. And honestly? I'm not asking back. PLUS, let me just say the cameos of Jones's other characters made me SCREAM! Especially when Nate and Tillie showed up...yeah I screamed!
“Well, you remember that next time you have your tongue down the devil’s throat.” He chuckles. “All things sinister taste like honey.”
The depth with which she writes makes you feel as if you’re right there with them, having the same experiences. That is how you know Amo is an exceptional writer, when you’re not just reading a story but experiencing one!! Once you read this you will become obsessed with the Midnight Mayhem family and impatiently waiting for the next EPIC ride that we know is coming.
"Ever been in love?""Never.""Ever plan to?""Never.""Some might say you have a black heart."
Rating: ★★★ ★ ☆
Overall, this book was PERFECT! Yes, there was some things missing for me as a reader BUT this a book that was perfect to read for October. Amo Jones is an amazing writer whose books are always up there up there in my most anticipated books. Midnight Mayhem is really a story about twists and turns, and just overall romance when it comes with a bit of darkness to satisfy us. This is such a recommended book, especially if you are in a reading slump.

Waiting for the Sun by Lindsey Iler

"It hurts now, and it will hurt tomorrow. When it stops hurting so badly, that's when you'll see the truth."
The second book of the Hand Over My Heart Duet is out and it is still a tear jerker! Lindsey Iler owes me for the tissues I had to use to finish through this duet. This book made me laugh and cry and smiling and swooning and yelling all at once. The second part of Nick and Hannah's story was heartbreaking and raw. With every word you can feel the pain and love bleeding from the pages. There were times, when things from the past were revealed, that I had to walk away. There are quiet a few places that you will definitely need tissues, because you will be gutted. It is beautifully written, and the ending of this great love story was everything I hoped it would be.

Let's go to the review:
Bitmoji Image

I’m unapologetically in love with Nick Kovac. He can claim to hate me and blame me for everything.
I’ll fight for us both.
He severs the promise he made, leaving me on the hockey rink floor, heartbroken and alone.
It doesn’t take me long to stand with my head held high, while he's being a coward. Stuck between push and pull, everything we are is in question.
Sometimes the answers are in the stars. Others, it’s where the sun shines that our lives change

Bitmoji Image
I knew going into Waiting for the Sun Iler was going to cause me emotional distress. I even took Benadryl before I started reading to make sure my eyes didn't get so swollen. And I was absolutely right! I found myself crying and crying, even at parts I wouldn't normally cry at. But I couldn't stop even if I wanted, these two just found their way into my heart and soul and won't leave. Iler gives us an emotional rollercoaster. Nick and Hannah are raw and real. She brings them to life on each and every page. These two capture your soul and break your heart.
Hannah: I feel like I've lost my best friend.Nick: You should be a pro at that by now.
The side characters in a book can make or break it and Kellan and Nicole are absolutely perfect. I know we all don't like Kellan because he's so against Nick and Hannah. Did any of us understand the world then? No! His devotion to his sister is unparalleled and clouded his judgement. But when he comes with that letter all is forgotten.
Bitmoji Image
"You were a casualty. I'm sorry, Hannah."
Every word touched my soul. I felt the story deep within me. Their love, their conflict...and I so badly wanted to fix it all for them. Watching this story unfold I held my breath as tears poured down my face. And I cheered loudly when then book concluded and we were given the only proper ending fit for our Nick and Hannah.
"Make me feel loved, even if it's for the last time."
Rating: ★★★ ★ ☆
Overall, this book was a beautiful conclusion of Hannah and Nick's story. I could not put it down. they are both strong, vulnerable, and broken, you can feel their pain and happiness. I even connected with Kellan and felt his pain. That doesn’t happen often with me to feel the emotions of a side character but I did. This is an amazing duet and everybody needs to say they survived Nick and Hannah. Lindsey you did an amazing job telling and concluding these character's stories. Hopefully we can see a sneak peak of them in the future books you write.

Excerpt:

“Keep it. A little something to remember me.” “So…are we, like, going to be like…boyfriend and girlfriend?” Her eyes are expectant and suddenly, breathing feels a little harder. Those words make me think of things like explanations and disappointment. I’m not sure that I can be intimate with anyone. And what happens when she finds out about everything? She’ll be horrified. Or when I start back on the show and that whole world crowds in on us… she’ll get tired of it and walk away. Or I’ll be weak and break even more of my own rules and end up hurting her. “Let’s not put any labels on it.” Her eyes lose some of their sparkle, but she smiles gamely. “Well, no matter what we call it, the last few days have been awesome. I know a side of myself that I didn’t before.” “How do you mean?” “I mean, now I know, that given the chance, I can sit down with people I don’t know and have a great conversation. I’ve never been anywhere, but here. And now I’m going to get to travel with you—even though I’ll be seeing it through your phone’s camera. Meeting you was really good luck.”Oh yeah…The cheesecake. I’m ruined. I brush my lips very lightly across hers and smile when she whimpers. God, I’m going to miss her. “I promise, I’ll call.” It doesn’t make my heart race to say it. “Don’t promise, Carter. Those are bound to be broken. Just do it.”Her eyes turn solemn and I see that she and disappointment are intimate friends. I want to break them up.

Serenading Heartbreak by Ella Fields

He arrived wrapped in warning, of which I’d never heed. Every shade of gray, sunshine and rain-drenched days. A love that visited and never stayed. Again and again and again.
Once again, Ella Fields has destroyed me once again with this beautiful book. From page one and I was instantly drawn in. I had to know what was going to happen, I had to know who Stevie was going to choose. I don't want to waste time so...to the review.
not crying
My first love was my brother’s best friend. A lead singer in their band. A picture of rugged perfection. And a drunk soul mate who couldn’t commit.
My second love was an arrogant baseball player. A player in every sense of the word. A smooth-talking, reliable best friend. And a chance at something beautiful and true.
The problem with having a first and second love? That would be loving them at the same time. My story isn’t some sexy triangle. It’s exquisite agony. Fate gave me two men to love, but none of us knew which one I could keep.

I raged, I swooned, I sighed, I cursed a storm, I even screamed at my iPad why oh why! I even had to walk away a few times just to breathe!! This book right here knew no boundaries!! It threw curveballs, it threw bullets to the heart, it threw me into a fit of despair.

The angst, the heartbreak, the too and fro nearly killed me!! This author threw everything thing she could at me and I’m barely left standing! How could I hate what I was reading but love it so much at the same time! This book definitely put me through the wringer!

Stevie Sandrine’s first love was the boy across the street, who just so happened to be her brother’s best friend. Everett Taylor was the bad boy who couldn’t commit. The lead singer in a band, Everett felt like he could never be enough for Stevie. Stevie loved him fiercely, but it was never quite enough. Fast forward a few years and Stevie meets Aiden Prince. Aiden knows he could be what Stevie needs if she would just open up to him and give him a chance. When finally she does, their love grows, but when Everett comes back into Stevie’s life, it becomes too much. Stevie loves both Aiden and Everett, but she can only have one, and by choosing one she is going to have to say goodbye to the other forever.
“Well, hopefully my dad won’t curse up a storm when I tell him I got my sixth ticket for the year. I figure he’ll be okay when I tell him the story of how it led to meeting my future wife.” Tipping his shoulder, he added, “He’s a sucker for true love.”
Bitmoji Image
If you ever read any book by this woman than you know it is always full of Angst. So. Much. Angst. I will say, that normally, when I read a book that involves love triangles, I end up hating one of the guys and am grateful when the heroine chooses who she chooses. In this case though, I loved both Everett and Aiden equally, therefore I didn’t know who I was rooting for. To me, that is what makes this book stand out from others that I have read. The way that Ella Fields wrote about the love and the heartache and everything in between when she was giving us this story, it made you want Stevie to choose both Everett and Aiden. This book was beautifully written and broke my heart in the best way possible. This book isn’t just a love triangle, it is a journey of discovery for one young woman to see where her heart truly belongs.
Bitmoji Image
With that being said...I would have chosen Aiden Prince. This sexy baseball player bulldozes his way into her life with his playful, lighthearted personality. His smile did something to her, and he intrigued and excited her. Friendship turns into more, and she can see the potential for something real and lasting. I love Everett and who he was but I just wouldn't go back to someone who repeatedly let me down over and over again. I mean she was pregnant of Ever's child but Aiden was to me the better candidate.
accurate
Rating: ★★★ ★ ☆
Overall, Ella Fields once again brought a new story with difficult decisions that lead to one heartbreak and one happiness. Serenading Heartbreak delivered what I expected it and Ella Fields to do. Drive me bonkers and pulling on every emotion right until the final page. Stevie had to make a choice between two incredible guys and I was glad it wasn’t me. That’s a testament to the writing from Ella Fields. These three characters screwed up numerous times but still I came to care for them. Wanting the best for each of them no matter the outcome. Angst galore and it was fabulous!

“I’m going to fall.” “So fall,” he said, low and confident. “I’ll be here to help you get back up.”

Fate gave me two men to love, but none of us knew which one I could keep.

Excerpt: We bumped into the counter and he cursed, muttering an apology as he set me on it. Removing my jacket, I could hardly breathe when his teeth sank into my lip. His hands pulled at my tank, tugging it and my bra down over my breasts.

“Fuck.” He tore his mouth away, lowering to my chest as he unzipped his jeans.

I gripped his face, needing those lips back on mine, then I reached for his waistband, shoving his jeans and briefs down.

He helped, and then pulled me right to the edge, testing my entrance with his thumb before licking the digit and pushing my panties aside. “I still have your other pair,” he said, his breath rattling as he pushed at my opening.

“Wha–oh, shit.” He rammed inside, and my head rolled.

He slammed in and out, again and again, one hand around my leg that’d been looped behind him, and the other behind my head as he bent over and hammered into me, sucking at my throat.

It’d been so long, and I felt just how long as the discomfort slowly fled and pleasure began to flood my bloodstream. “I-I think I’m coming…”

Everett chuckled, the sound dark. “You think? Clover, when I’m fucking you, you know damn well you’re coming.” Then he lifted me and spun us around until my back met the cool exterior of the fridge, magnets digging into my ass while I kept my legs wrapped tight around him.

I mumbled incoherent pleas to his tongue as it slid over mine. Our teeth clacked, his hips jerking up so fast and hard, I was on the edge and shaking for what felt like minutes. “So fucking beautiful. So fucking mine. Say it.” He reached between us to flick me into a million shattering pieces. “Say it while you come because of me.”

“Yours,” I rasped, and he held my face as he jerked and stilled, his forehead hard on mine and his breath choppy as it drifted inside my mouth.

We remained like that, eyes locked, our thundering hearts taking their time to slow and calm. His finger drifted over my cheek, and his cock softened inside me.

“You’ve wrecked me, Clover.”

Blurb:

My first love was my brother’s best friend.

A lead singer in their band.

A picture of rugged perfection.

And a drunk soul mate who couldn’t commit.

My second love was an arrogant baseball player.

A player in every sense of the word.

A smooth-talking, reliable best friend.

And a chance at something beautiful and true.

The problem with having a first and second love?

That would be loving them at the same time.

My story isn’t some sexy triangle.

It’s exquisite agony.

Fate gave me two men to love,

but none of us knew which one I could keep.
