Razer's Ride by Jamie Begley

Razer's Ride

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

The first time I read this book, it was just meh. But

The MC life that I’m used to reading about wasn’t much of a focus and definitely a lot different from the other books I've watched. They ran a different type of club. I liked the men. I had like/hate feelings towards Razer due to his inability to give Beth what she needed and his view of women. To each his own, but my gosh, they hurt Beth so many times throughout the book that I'm surprised she hadn't ditched the whole town. It made my heart hurt.

Beth is not your strong, take no crap, female. She’s a bit of a pushover. She’s sweet and understanding, and forgiving. She wants to do the right thing and puts others first all the time. A few moments in the book that I was about to call it quits had Razer messed up and hurt her like I thought was happening. I was putting the book down and away, but it turned out ok. Beth’s new crazy, insane friends were great and represented GIRL POWER! Crazy, but it was the group she needed. If you want an alpha male who is possessive of his girl and only sees/wants her and is strong, stand up for herself type, this is not a book for you. I’m glad I finished it.

Overall, I did like this book. It was very different, and I needed something different lately. It is the first book in a LONG series. The author, thankfully, has a reading order on her bio. While you could read these as a stand-alone, it's nice knowing who the characters are in the book and what the storyline was as the series progressed. So whether you skip ahead to the newest book, Gavin's Trilogy, or you start here. This series is awesome, and Jamie Begley is now one of my favorite authors.
