Serenading Heartbreak by Ella Fields

He arrived wrapped in warning, of which I’d never heed. Every shade of gray, sunshine and rain-drenched days. A love that visited and never stayed. Again and again and again.
Once again, Ella Fields has destroyed me once again with this beautiful book. From page one and I was instantly drawn in. I had to know what was going to happen, I had to know who Stevie was going to choose. I don't want to waste time so...to the review.
not crying
My first love was my brother’s best friend. A lead singer in their band. A picture of rugged perfection. And a drunk soul mate who couldn’t commit.
My second love was an arrogant baseball player. A player in every sense of the word. A smooth-talking, reliable best friend. And a chance at something beautiful and true.
The problem with having a first and second love? That would be loving them at the same time. My story isn’t some sexy triangle. It’s exquisite agony. Fate gave me two men to love, but none of us knew which one I could keep.

I raged, I swooned, I sighed, I cursed a storm, I even screamed at my iPad why oh why! I even had to walk away a few times just to breathe!! This book right here knew no boundaries!! It threw curveballs, it threw bullets to the heart, it threw me into a fit of despair.

The angst, the heartbreak, the too and fro nearly killed me!! This author threw everything thing she could at me and I’m barely left standing! How could I hate what I was reading but love it so much at the same time! This book definitely put me through the wringer!

Stevie Sandrine’s first love was the boy across the street, who just so happened to be her brother’s best friend. Everett Taylor was the bad boy who couldn’t commit. The lead singer in a band, Everett felt like he could never be enough for Stevie. Stevie loved him fiercely, but it was never quite enough. Fast forward a few years and Stevie meets Aiden Prince. Aiden knows he could be what Stevie needs if she would just open up to him and give him a chance. When finally she does, their love grows, but when Everett comes back into Stevie’s life, it becomes too much. Stevie loves both Aiden and Everett, but she can only have one, and by choosing one she is going to have to say goodbye to the other forever.
“Well, hopefully my dad won’t curse up a storm when I tell him I got my sixth ticket for the year. I figure he’ll be okay when I tell him the story of how it led to meeting my future wife.” Tipping his shoulder, he added, “He’s a sucker for true love.”

If you ever read any book by this woman than you know it is always full of Angst. So. Much. Angst. I will say, that normally, when I read a book that involves love triangles, I end up hating one of the guys and am grateful when the heroine chooses who she chooses. In this case though, I loved both Everett and Aiden equally, therefore I didn’t know who I was rooting for. To me, that is what makes this book stand out from others that I have read. The way that Ella Fields wrote about the love and the heartache and everything in between when she was giving us this story, it made you want Stevie to choose both Everett and Aiden. This book was beautifully written and broke my heart in the best way possible. This book isn’t just a love triangle, it is a journey of discovery for one young woman to see where her heart truly belongs.

With that being said...I would have chosen Aiden Prince. This sexy baseball player bulldozes his way into her life with his playful, lighthearted personality. His smile did something to her, and he intrigued and excited her. Friendship turns into more, and she can see the potential for something real and lasting. I love Everett and who he was but I just wouldn't go back to someone who repeatedly let me down over and over again. I mean she was pregnant of Ever's child but Aiden was to me the better candidate.

Rating: ★★★ ★ ☆
Overall, Ella Fields once again brought a new story with difficult decisions that lead to one heartbreak and one happiness. Serenading Heartbreak delivered what I expected it and Ella Fields to do. Drive me bonkers and pulling on every emotion right until the final page. Stevie had to make a choice between two incredible guys and I was glad it wasn’t me. That’s a testament to the writing from Ella Fields. These three characters screwed up numerous times but still I came to care for them. Wanting the best for each of them no matter the outcome. Angst galore and it was fabulous!

“I’m going to fall.” “So fall,” he said, low and confident. “I’ll be here to help you get back up.”
